Rammed earth is a technique for building walls, foundations, and floors using natural raw materials such as earth, chalk, lime or gravel. Evidence of the early use of rammed earth has been seen in Neolithic archaeological sites of the Yangshao and Longshan cultures along the Yellow River in China, dating back to 5000 BCE. By 2000 BCE, rammed-earth architectural techniques were commonly used for walls and foundations in China. I grew up in the Yellow River area in China. With the development of the society, we use more and more modern materials and new technologies in China. But we almost forget all the traditions.  As an architect, I want to explore the potential of the Chinese traditional rammed earth tectonic and try to pay attention to those materials and handcraft that are going to disappear in the future
